Potholes and minor repairs to the road

One of the biggest areas that residents complain to the Parish Council about is the condition of the roads. Strictly speaking the responsibility for road repairs lies with the County Council and anyone can report an issue thereby (hopefully) hastening its repair. There is an online form for doing this which is quick, simple and easy to use. A form has, for example, been submitted today (23/02/2014) relating to the dangerous road damage opposite The Cottage in Lower Brampton that some individual residents have complained to me about. It is a good idea for the Parish Council to keep the Highways people appraised of these incidents but it certainly does help if people can also report these things themselves. The more reports made the quicker things get seen to. It also helps if a photo or two can be taken and submitted if later requested by the Council.

Either way, if you do see something that requires dealing with, please let the Clerk know on bopc@hotmail.co.uk  or any Parish Councillor and also please let us know if you have also reported it to the County Council online. If you do use the online form can you also please let us have the allocated reference number so we can keep “an eye” on things. Many thanks.
